Dr. Couchot also works closely with our Family Nurse Practitioner, Ashley Mele, and treats patients as part of the practice’s wellness & functional medicine division. He is dedicated to helping her patients heal naturally by getting to the root cause of their symptoms.

His medical studies began at the University of South Florida, where he completed both medical school and a residency in Family Medicine. Inspired by his own athletic background, as well as his desire to help his patients return to the activities they want and need to do, he developed a passion for Sports medicine and eventually completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. While there, he was able to provide medical coverage for multiple NCAA D3 schools as well as professional and local dance studios, such as Boston Ballet. He continued his post-graduate education with a second fellowship in Sports Endocrinology and Female Athlete Medicine. He pursued this additional training to delve deeper into the whole-body effects of exercise and training on bone health, reproductive health, and the endocrinological system. He applies the holistic approach he learned during this fellowship to each one of his patients.

One of Dr. Couchot’s goals is to remain athletically driven throughout his life. Outside of practicing medicine, he enjoys running, reading, and spending time exploring everything New York has to offer.
