Michael Shapiro, MD is a board-certified vascular surgeon whose clinical expertise lies in advanced endovascular and surgical therapies for peripheral arterial disease, limb salvage, and innovative treatments for chronic lower extremity pain. He earned his medical degree from Georgetown University and completed his internship in General Surgery at Yale University.

During his training at Cornell, Georgetown, and Yale, Dr. Shapiro distinguished himself academically, publishing in multiple peer-reviewed journals while at the Lenox Hill Heart and Vascular Institute. He later served as interim chief of vascular surgery at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital before joining Atlantic Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in 2025. He also serves as faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College, teaching the next generation of surgeons.

His work in this space represents a new frontier in sports and musculoskeletal medicine, offering patients safer, faster alternatives to traditional surgery.
