Daniel Gaft is a Staff Physician Assistant with experience caring for patients with a wide variety of orthopedic conditions. A New York native, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Stony Brook University in 2023, where he specialized in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine, before completing his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Stony Brook University in 2026.

Orthopedics and sports medicine have long been areas of interest for Daniel. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, he served as Lead Medical Assistant at Atlantic Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, where he gained extensive experience caring for patients with a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions. During his clinical year in PA school, he completed two orthopedic surgery rotations at North Shore University Hospital (NSUH), further strengthening his knowledge and skills in orthopedic evaluation and management. In addition, his experience as a Direct Support Professional helped shape his compassionate, patient-centered approach to care and reinforced the importance of communication, advocacy, and individualized treatment.

Daniel rejoined Atlantic Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in 2026 and works directly with Dr. Matthew Wert while collaborating closely with the rest of the orthopedic team. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of conditions affecting the shoulder, knee, and lower extremities and is committed to providing evidence-based, compassionate care that helps patients return to the activities they enjoy.

Outside of the office, Daniel enjoys playing guitar, cheering on the New York Knicks, and spending time with friends and family. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) and the New York State Society of Physician Assistants (NYSSPA).
