Ian Wert is a Staff Physician Assistant with a strong foundation in orthopedic care and a lifelong passion for sports medicine. He earned a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from York College in Queens, NY after completing his undergraduate degree at University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Prior to attending PA school, Ian worked as a medical assistant at Atlantic Orthopedics & Sports Medicine and was a sales representative for an orthopedic medical device company where he gained an understanding in orthopedic procedures and surgical technology.

Ian re-joined the practice with his PA credentials in early 2025 and works directly with Dr. Matthew Wert, specializing in treatment of patients with conditions of the shoulder, knee and lower extremities. As a lifelong athlete he brings a unique perspective to patient care—combining clinical expertise with a firsthand appreciation of the demands athletes face. His commitment to helping patients recover, perform, and thrive makes him an integral part of the Atlantic Orthopedic & Sports Medicine team. In Ian's free time he enjoys playing pickleball, watching sports and hiking. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
