Medical Office Legal Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

Fast-paced, growing orthopedic surgery & sports medicine practice with offices in Brooklyn & Staten Island seeking an experienced Legal Coordinator.

Under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager, the Medical Legal Coordinator acts as the internal liaison between the practice and external law firms requiring access to physicians and/or medical records for clients being treated for personal injury cases. The Medical Legal Coordinator adheres to office policies and procedures as provided and complies with all federal and state laws and regulations governing the privacy and security of patient’s PHI (Private Health Information) under HIPAA. Work is accurate and performed in a timely manner.

  • · Answers telephone calls from attorney offices regarding the scheduling of med/legal events, records needed immediately for hearings, billing questions, rehabilitation records, etc., in accordance with office protocol, on a daily basis.
  • · Sorts and handles all attorney correspondence and legal documents for all providers
  • · Involves the pulling of charts, accessing EMR, providing copies as requested, and mailing of the records as appropriate.
  • · Receiver of incoming subpoenas. Sometimes involves gathering of records as described above and providing them to external attorneys and/or court.
  • · Assist with resolution of denied medical claims.

 

Qualifications:

  • · Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • · 2+ years of experience in workers compensation case management and/or workers compensation medical billing
  • · Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • · Moderate computer knowledge, including the ability to learn and navigate new systems and programs.
  • · Ability to write clear and concise notes.
  • · Willingness to participate and be flexible with changing priorities and projects.
  • · Ability to read and understand previous notes on an account to take the accurate next step toward resolution.
  • · Time management skills and a “team player” mentality.
  • · Familiarity with NY workers compensation board, payer portals and denials.

Functional Medicine MD, DO or NP

JOB SUMMARY:

Established Orthopedic/Sports Medicine office has an exceptional opportunity for a licensed Nurse Practitioner to serve as a Functional Medicine Health Coach to work in Park Slope, Brooklyn (hybrid in-person/remote).

This is a new venture for our practice and will be structured as a cash pay/fee-for-service wellness division.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in functional medicine, integrative health, and a passion for providing patient-centered care.

This is a part time position and we're seeking someone based in the NY Metro area.

Orthopedic/Sports Medicine Medical Assistant

Busy Orthopedic office looking to hire an additional medical assistant/medical scribe. We are looking for someone upbeat, happy, personable and professional with the right character and attitude. Our office is family oriented/friendly and we are looking for a candidate who will thrive in this environment. Medical Assistant experience is preferred.

Candidate must be willing to travel between offices in Brooklyn and Staten Island.

Russian or Spanish speaking strongly preferred.

Pay is $17/hr
