Dr. Janakos received a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Stony Brook University and graduated from Ross University School of Medicine with honors. She completed her residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Louisville and her fellowship in Sports Medicine at Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey . During her training she provided coverage for the New York Jets, Seton Hall University, multiple high schools, NCAA Division 1 cross country championships, multiple Duathlons and Triathlons including the Ironman, the Special Olympics, as well as the New York City Marathon.

Dr. Maria Janakos is double board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. Dr. Janakos’s specialties include concussion management, electrodiagnostic testing, Botox injections for chronic migraines and treating acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions of the neck, back, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and ankle using a conservative non-operative approach. She performs diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound guided joint injections with the ultimate goal of improving function and overall wellness.
